Kuching, capital of the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo, is a bustling, diverse city of old colonial buildings and modern towers. Along its Sarawak River waterfront are food vendors, shophouses selling handicrafts and an esplanade with views of 19th-century landmarks: The Astana, former palace of the White Rajahs, and Fort Margherita, built to thwart pirates.

1. Semenggoh Wildlife Centre : Semenggoh (Orang Utan) Wildlife Centre situated about 30 minutes’ drive from Kuching, here, the Orang Utans are being nurtured to readapt themselves to the jungle life. You will have the chance to observe the Semi-Wild Orang Utans coming out of the forest for the feeding time. Before arriving at the feeding platform, you will have a brief experience walking through the amazing untouched rainforest.

2. Sarawak Cultural Village : The Sarawak Cultural Village tour combines both experiences of culture and nature. Known as the “Living Museum” Sarawak Cultural Village offers an opportunity to admire the richly diverse multi-racial cultures of Sarawak as displayed and presented in the traditional homes of the various indigenous tribes in the village and see how local handicrafts are made. The tour concludes with the fascinating 45 minutes cultural performances at the air conditioned theatre.
