#PakejCutiPenjawatAwam 3 Days 2 Night Mulu Show Caves, Miri, Sarawak

About this Package

  • Gunung Mulu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has everything to offer for both leisure and adventurous visitors. It has the world’s most extensive cave system, jungle trekking, river rapids, and fascinating people, including Sarawak’s last nomadic tribes.
  • Its limestone mountain range is honeycombed with underground caverns and riversby one of the world’s most extensive cave system. This includes the world’s largest natural chamber, the Sarawak Chamber; the world’s largest cave passage, Deer Cave, capable of holding London’s St.Paul’s Cathedral; and at 215 km as of 2015, the eighth longest cave in the world, the Clearwater Cave System.
  • At dusk, visitors are thrilled as they watch a black river exodus of two million bats pouring out of the Deer Cave on their nightly forage for insects.
  • Above ground, the park is just as fascinating. Its 15 different types of forest contain a wealth of wildlife and thousands of species of ferns, fungi, mosses and flowering plants. There are 170 species of wild orchids and 10 species of carnivorous pitcher plants with species still waiting to be discovered.
  • The best way to experience this amazing variety of life is on jungle and mountain treks that require overnight stays at jungle camps. These treks require guides and a certain level of fitness, especially the Pinnacles on Gunung Api, with its razor-sharp limestone peaks soaring above the surrounding jungle.

Package Includes

  • All ground transportations as per itinerary with English and Bahasa Malaysia speaking Tour Guide.

  • DAY 1
  • Arrive at Mulu airport and transfer to your accommodation for check in. Proceed to the National Park Headquarters for registration and lunch at the Park's canteen.
  • After lunch, you will take approximately 45 minutes to walk along a wooden plank path through riverine and lowland limestone forest leading to Lang's Cave. Explore this beautiful cave with its stunning stalagmites and stalactites, followed by the Deer Cave with the largest cave passage in the world. This cave also houses an estimated 2 million bats, so be prepared for the stinging smell of guano.
  • After the exploration of these two amazing caves, you will proceed to the bat observatory platform. If weather permits you will witness the bats emerging from the cave in spiralling black streams.
  • Walk back to the Park's Headquarters the same way and return to your accommodation.
  • Overnight at Mulu.

  • DAY 2
  • After breakfast, you will embark on a 30-40 minute boat ride (depending on water level). During a short stop at a Penan settlement, you can learn about their formerly nomadic lifestyle and visit a small handicraft market.
  • Then proceed by boat to Wind Cave. Climb up a few stairs to the cave entrance. Inside the cave, you will sometimes feel a slight breeze, which gave this cave its name. You will also find the beautiful King's chamber with its astonishing rock calcite formations. After exploration of this cave, take 10 minutes to walk to the Clearwater Spring, where you will take a short break.
  • To reach the entrance of Clearwater Cave, you need to climb 200 steps. Inside the cave many more steps await you. But it is worth it, as this cave is probably the most impressive amongst all, with a system of cave passages of more than 100 km in length.
  • A simple picnic lunch will be served at the Clearwater Spring, after which you may enjoy a swim in the cool clear water of the Clearwater Spring.
  • Return to your accommodation. The afternoon is free at your own leisure to enjoy the beautiful natural environment or to sign up for one of the many other activities (not included in the package) offered by the National Park, such as a canopy walk, a trek to a waterfall or a night walk.
