The cuisine of Kelantan a culinary paradise in Malaysia and has Thai influences. As a result, the various specialties you can vine on Kelantan are not on the menu everywhere in Malaysia. This cuisine is mainly on the border side with Thailand. These typical Thai influences from kelantan’s cuisine can be found in the delicious dishes where one makes a lot of use of coconut milk. As a result, the curry dishes are much richer and creamier in taste than in the rest of Malaysia. Also, the people of Kelantan love sugar, something that is much less used in the other states of Malaysia. A unique blend of Malaysian-Thai cuisine has emerged.
Dabong is an inland Malaysian town surrounded by an abundance of natural wonders. Also known as Kuala Krai Selatan, this small town has become a popular tourist destination. We were surprised at the number of people that got off the train with us at Dabong, but after spending time in the area we can see why it is such a popular stop on the Jungle Railway. It is a great place to get back to nature. In particular the area is home to one of the tallest waterfalls on Peninsular Malaysia as well as an expansive state park, a cave complex and river areas.

Day 1 – pick up from hotel/airport and proceed for half day Kota Bharu city tour covers – Rumah Tiang 12, Istana Jahar, state museum, Kampung kraftangan, Ayu Batik (making of batik), After dinner (own expenses), return back to hotel. Overnight in Kota Baharu.

Day 2 – early check out and board ETS train to Dabong. Breakfast at Dabong and later proceed for hiking (with nature guide) or photostop at Gunung Stong. By 4.30pm board ETS train back to Wakaf Bahru. Upon arriving proceed for dinner (own expenses) and later back to hotel.

Day 3 – Shopping tour at Siti Khatijah and later drop at airport/hotel.
